In a simple experiment, researchers at the University of Chicago sought to find out whether a rat would release a fellow rat from an unpleasantly restrictive cage if it could. The answer was yes.
The free rat, occasionally hearing distress calls from its compatriot, learned to open the cage and did so with greater efficiency over time. It would release the other animal even if there wasn’t the payoff of a reunion with it. Astonishingly, if given access to a small hoard of chocolate chips, the free rat would usually save at least one treat for the captive — which is a lot to expect of a rat.
The researchers came to the unavoidable conclusion that what they were seeing was empathy — and apparently selfless behavior driven by that mental state.
So I was at one of the Sarah J. Maas events for ToD and
Someone asked what she had against writing wedding scenes.
She proceeded to tell us that she actually HAS WRITTEN A WEDDING SCENE FOR FEYSAND. And promptly abandoned it because it was too sappy.
Everyone lost their minds. We basically begged her to put it in as bonus content somewhere and she basically said “maybe, we’ll see.”
AND I JUST THINK IT’S IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT SARAH HAS CONFIRMED THAT THERE IS A WEDDING SCENE THAT EXISTS AND SHE SPECIFICALLY SAID THAT IT HAS THE WHOLE CIRCLE AND EVERYONE’S CRYING AND JUST YES. IT EXISTS AND I WANT IT.
Second update WIP. The painting is actually much bigger. But I don’t want to show everything until I’m finished :) Chapter 42, Under the Mountain, Throne Scene
